The White House Correspondents’ dinner is happening Saturday night, you know, the annual dinner where journalists mingle with celebrities, mock Republicans, suck up to Democrats and generally just congratulate themselves. RedState’s Brad Slager wasn’t impressed:

But it wasn’t just biased network anchors and grinning politicians who showed up; the pro-Hamas gang had to make an appearance, too. Hundreds demonstrated outside the hotel where the event is taking place, chanting their usual hateful slogans, waving Palestinian flags, and screaming at the Biden motorcade when it went by.

The most dramatic sign of the pro-Hamas, anti-Israel presence however might have been the massive Palestinian flag that was hung out of a window at the Washington Hilton, where the event has been held for decades.

The demonstrators performed many of the same antics that we have been witnessing on college campuses across the nation:

With hundreds of protesters rallying against the war in Gaza outside the event and concerns over the conflict and humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the perils for journalists covering the conflict, the war hung over this year’s event…

Chants accused U.S. journalists of undercovering the war and misrepresenting it. “Western media we see you, and all the horrors that you hide,” crowds chanted at one point.

Other protesters lay sprawled motionless on the pavement, next to mock-ups of flak vests with “press” insignia.

The AP’s Farnoush Amiri reported that Biden’s motorcade took a different route than in previous years but still couldn’t escape the mobs.

They yelled “shame on you” through bullhorns over and over as some of the guests arrived:

Things almost took a dangerous turn, according to one outlet:

At one point, demonstrators appeared to have made their way into the hotel, storming the red carpet with a large sign that read “Biden’s Legacy is Genocide.”

Behind them, guests smiled and posed for pictures, according to a clip posted online.

RedState will bring you more coverage of the event as warranted. In the meantime, however, remember that these protesters—like their college counterparts—are cheering on their support of people behind atrocities like this, which I wrote about earlier Saturday:
